Lawrence Township Public Schools Appoints New Instructional Supervisor
Experienced Administrator Will Provide Exceptional Educational Opportunities While Building Relationships
At the May 22, 2024 Board of Education meeting, the Lawrence Township Board of Education approved Dr. Damian Bariexca as the new K-6 Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) Supervisor.
Bariexca is proud to have been a New Jersey public school educator since 2000, and a mainstay in Lawrence Township Public Schools since 2011, serving as a school psychologist, instructional supervisor, and high school assistant principal during his time in the district.
“I am excited to start this new chapter in my career by returning to LTPS’s Office of Instructional Services, where I began my administrative career ten years ago,” Bariexca said. “I look forward to supporting and guiding the critical work done by our K-6 teachers and support staff.”
Bariexca follows in the esteemed footsteps of Ms. Kristin Burke, who was recently appointed Principal of Lawrenceville Elementary School. Bariexca's extensive experience and visionary approach will ensure a seamless transition and continued excellence.
“We will work collaboratively to make this transition as smooth as possible so we can continue to provide an exceptional educational experience for our K-6 students, staff, and families," Bariexca and Burke said in a joint letter informing Lawrence staff of the changes. “While there will be some new faces in new places starting this summer, one thing remains the same: ‘What’s good for kids’ is our North Star.”
Bariexca earned his B.A. in English from The College of New Jersey, his Ed.S. in School Psychology from Rider University, and his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University. Outside of Lawrence Township, Dr. Bariexca has taught aspiring teachers at Delaware Valley University and has worked as a professional development consultant for the New Jersey Education Association. He resides in Perkasie, PA with his family.
