Science Olympiad Team Excels at Regional Competition

The Lawrence High School (LHS) Science Olympiad students have been studying their event subjects or engineering structures for months – and in some cases for years – to become experts in their science or engineering subject at a college level. Below are the results from their recent tournament:

The day’s best performance went to John Rawley, Ian Tseng, and Stephen Pachucki, who receive 2nd place in Experimental Design.

Other medalists include:

  • Anushka Paulchoudhury and Nandani Swami for Mousetrap Vehicle Design and Operation
  • Dhakshayini Suresh and Ethan Wang for Botany
  • Stephen Pachucki and Rohan Vanaparthi for Forensic Science
  • Dewayne Barnes, Arjun Agarwal, and Stephen Pachucki for Codebusters
  • Alexa Sullivan, Amritha Sypereddi, and Riddhi Bharj for Protein Modeling

One point away from the medal stand were:

  • Susanna Gagliardi and Arjun Agarwal for Circuit Lab
  • Chaiyo Kosinski and Ian Tseng for Dynamic Planet - Geologic Science

A special commendation goes to Stephen Pachucki who earned three medals at Regionals and is only the 2nd LHS student to reach this achievement! The team’s success earned LHS a guaranteed spot at the Science Olympiad State Championship in March. LHS scien teacher Gwenn Andahazy is the team advisor.
