LHS Juniors Present Research at 2019 NJ History Conference

Lawrence High School (LHS) juniors Dessy Dusichka and Amritha Sypereddi received one of the top three project awards at the 2019 New Jersey History Conference, New Jersey Women Make History, sponsored by the NJ Historical Commission at Rutgers University on November 1.

The Conference explored and celebrated the stories of the diverse women who made and continue to make New Jersey history. Dusichka and Sypereddi were the only high school students among undergrad and grad school presenters who were invited to share their research during the Poster and Project session. Their winning website, "New Jersey's 'Glowing' Women: The Triumph and Tragedy of the Radium Girls," placed fourth last June at the National History Day (NHD) competition at the University of Maryland. The girls are co-presidents of the LHS National History Day Club.
