LIS Teacher Accepted into NJ STEM Innovation Fellowship
Monica Watson, 4th grade teacher at Lawrence Intermediate School (LIS), is one of 30 NJ teachers who have been accepted into the NJ STEM Innovation Fellowship! Math for America, a nationally recognized STEM education nonprofit organization, has partnered with Montclair State, Princeton, and Rowan Universities to create this pilot program.
Monica will attend a two-day summer institute at the end of August and workshops throughout the school year, focusing how to implement an innovative, reaching based-teaching routine called "number strings" to help students develop the flexible computational thinking skills they need to be successful in the math classroom. Congratulations, Monica!
