Dr. Ross Kasun Named 2023 Mercer County Superintendent of the Year

Lawrence Township’s Dr. Ross Kasun Honored as Mercer County Superintendent of the Year

The Mercer County Association of School Administrators (MCASA) has recognized Lawrence Township Public School District’s chief school administrator, Dr. Ross Kasun, as the 2023 Mercer County Superintendent of the Year.

Dr. Ross Kasun has served Mercer County and the Lawrence Township Public School District proudly for the past five years. MCASA has been honored to work with Ross, a distinguished colleague who was previously named the Superintendent of the Year by the New Jersey Association of School Administrators. As Dr. Kasun transitions to retirement, the Association recognizes him for his leadership at the county and state level and for the work that he has accomplished in Lawrence. Ross has continued to be a champion for student personalized learning, mental health and student and staff well-being.  He now leaves public education to work with a team to create unique learning opportunities for students using virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence.  He recently wrote, “Working alongside such talented, dedicated professionals (in the school district) has been a privilege and an honor. Together, we have accomplished so much – improving student outcomes, expanding programs and services, and building a culture of excellence."

“Dr. Kasun is a talented and dedicated school leader who is held in high regard by his colleagues,” MCASA President and West Windsor Plainsboro School District Superintendent Dr. David Aderhold stated.  “His work and leadership during the past five school years is a testament to Dr. Kasun’s dedication to the students and staff of Lawrence.  He is an outstanding selection as the 2023 Mercer County Superintendent of the Year and we offer him our thanks and congratulations on his upcoming retirement.”
