LTPS Earns Sustainable Jersey for Schools Bronze Certification

Lawrence Township Public Schools (LTPS) is pleased to announce that all seven schools in our district have been awarded bronze certification with Sustainable Jersey for Schools! Our administration, faculty, community liaisons, staff, and students all have an integral role in this process. Each school has been led by a green team rep, as well as our LTPS district sustainable leader, Cari Gallagher. Our district has shown remarkable integration of sustainable initiatives, environmental awareness, and climate change curriculum connections throughout instruction that support our students academically and social-emotionally. We are proud to once again achieve bronze certification from Sustainable Jersey for Schools and to share our accomplishments with the Lawrence community!

Yulieth Le Named Mercer County Teacher of the Year

Lawrence Township Public Schools is thrilled to announce that Lawrence Intermediate School (LIS) 4th grade teacher Yulieth Le has been selected as the 2023-2024 Mercer County Teacher of the Year! She was chosen by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) for this well-deserved honor. County Teachers of the Year will network with educators throughout the state and serve as ambassadors for New Jersey’s public schools during the upcoming school year. Read more.

Music students participate in a recital to showcase their summer work

The LTPS music department is so thankful that our rising 6-9th grade students had access to free summer group music lessons! Over 60 students took advantage of this opportunity in July, and some of our students also chose to learn a new instrument! 

Rising 6th Graders Participate in World Peace Games

Thanks to a partnership between LTPS and NJEA, 30 rising 6th-grade LIS students had the amazing opportunity to participate in the famous World Peace Games summer camp. The program, which was funded through an NEA grant, was run by the World Peace Games organization, NJEA, and LIS staff members. The World Peace Game is an immersive self-discovery and learning experience in the form of a geopolitical simulation.

LTEF Awards $31,896 to Public Schools Thanks to a Grant from BMS

The Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) recently awarded $31,896 in support of STEAM education in Lawrence Township public schools thanks to a grant from Bristol Myers Squibb.

Dr. Ross Kasun Named 2023 Mercer County Superintendent of the Year

The Mercer County Association of School Administrators (MCASA) has recognized Lawrence Township Public School District’s chief school administrator, Dr. Ross Kasun, as the 2023 Mercer County Superintendent of the Year.

January is the annual School Board Recognition Month in New Jersey! We appreciate our nine Board of Education (BOE) members who devote countless hours, without pay or benefit, to the oversight of district operations, including finances, policy, curriculum, and staffing. Thank you, BOE!

The New Jersey School Public Relations Association (NJSPRA) named Lawrence Township Public Schools a winner in the 2022 School Communications Award Contest. Lawrence schools won awards in the Photography and Special Interest Publication categories.

Rajneet Goomer is an award-winning director of student services. Her 17+ year career in education and New Jersey public schools has been rooted in equity, diversity, and inclusion for students, families, and staff.

Welcoming the New Director of Facilities

Jose Santos replaces outgoing director James Alberti as he retires after seven years of service. He has 30 years of experience serving in the public school setting as head custodian, supervisor, and facility director.

New LMS Assistant Principal – Dr. Wasserleben

Dr. Adrienne Wasserleben has been a health, physical education, and driver’s education teacher at LHS for 12 years, and the head cheerleading coach since 2011.

Sarah believes in building relationships with staff, students, and communities when designing educational experiences for learners in order to support and celebrate everyone in their successes.
