Sharin Rello Appointed New Principal of Lawrence Intermediate School
We are proud to announce that Ms. Sharin Rello was officially board approved on June 11 to serve as the next Principal of Lawrence Intermediate School, effective July 1!
A dedicated member of the LIS community for over 20 years, Ms. Rello is already well known and deeply respected as Assistant Principal. Over the past six years in that role, she has been a passionate advocate for supporting the whole child. Through initiatives such as the LIS House system and the introduction of peer-led intervention circles, has made a lasting impact—strengthening character education, reducing peer conflicts, and increasing student engagement.
Ms. Rello's leadership is rooted in her unwavering belief in the power of relationships, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed practices. She meets students where they are, challenges them to grow, and celebrates their individual strengths—both in and out of the classroom.
Before stepping into administration, Ms. Rello served as the LIS music teacher, where she brought creativity and energy to her work. She revived the school’s musical theater program, created a district-wide jazz festival, and gave students memorable experiences through guest artists and live performance opportunities. She has also made meaningful contributions across the district, including work on curriculum development, standards-based grading, character education, and equity.
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Rello on her new role as Principal of LIS! We are excited for all that lies ahead under her continued leadership.
