Lawrence Township Public Schools Passes Referendum Paving the Way for Academic Excellence

Thank you for voting

District and Board of Ed Express Appreciation, Thank Lawrence Voters for Their Support

Yesterday, the Lawrence Township Public Schools (LTPS) community overwhelmingly voted in favor of the district’s referendum, paving the way for a major expansion and renovation of the 75-year-old Lawrence Middle School. This investment will allow the district to welcome 6th graders into the middle school, modernize learning spaces, and address long-standing facility needs.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robyn Klim emphasized the long-term benefits of the project. “This is an exciting moment for LTPS," said Dr. Klim. "We are creating a stronger academic experience for our students and ensuring our facilities meet the needs of 21st-century learning. This project will benefit generations of students to come, and we are incredibly grateful to our community for making it possible."

The approved referendum will fund much-needed improvements to classrooms, the auditorium, cafeteria, and gymnasium, along with upgrades to athletic fields, parking, and traffic flow. These enhancements will provide safer, more functional and flexible spaces for students, staff, families, and the community.

Lawrence Township Board of Education President Michele Bowes expressed deep appreciation for the community’s support. School Board members are volunteer, elected officials who live and pay taxes in Lawrence Township. "Our schools are the heart of our community, and this investment in our schools will have a lasting impact," said Bowes. "We are profoundly appreciative of the community’s support in making this vision a reality."

With the referendum approved, LTPS will now begin the planning and implementation process, keeping the community informed along the way.
