On January 23, our middle and high school students had the incredible opportunity to attend a special assembly featuring Garry Gilliam Jr., a former NFL offensive tackle who played for the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers. Garry shared his inspiring story of overcoming adversity, from the challenging streets of his childhood to achieving his dream of playing in the NFL. His message of resilience, determination, and self-belief left a lasting impact, empowering our students to strive to be the very best versions of themselves.

The assembly was made possible by Athletes Charitable, an organization that works to give back to schools and provides inspirational messages to students to empower them to be the very best version of themselves. A huge thank you Julia Healey, CEO of United Charitable (Athletes Charitable's sister org) and a proud Lawrence High School alum for bringing this assembly to Lawrence!
