Cutting Edge VR Career Exploration Comes to LIS
Wednesday was an exciting day at Lawrence Intermediate School! Thanks to a generous grant from the Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF), students got their first hands-on experience with career exploration through virtual reality (VR)!
Using a mobile "interest inventory" and then donning VR headsets, students explored real-world careers in an immersive and interactive way—right from the school library. This innovative program aims to expand students’ horizons and give them a head start in thinking about their futures.
Superintendent Dr. Robyn Klim, Principal Dr. Alyson Fischer, and many district and LTEF leaders and Board members were on hand to witness this incredible launch. Some even got behind the VR goggles to explore careers like solar panel technician and veterinary assistant!
We are proud to be the first school in Mercer County to introduce a comprehensive career exploration program like this—and even prouder of the bright futures ahead for our students!
