To enroll your student in our schools you will need to complete the following steps:

STEP 1: CONFIRM YOUR ELIGIBILITY
Residency Requirements
Proof of residency is required for all new enrollments. You may only enroll children in Lawrence Schools if they are eligible as per N.J.A.C. 6A:22-3. If you enroll children in Lawrence Schools who are later found to be ineligible, you may be liable for tuition in excess of $20,000 per year for each child. It is your responsibility to comply with all residency and eligibility laws. You will be required to prove that you reside in Lawrence Township and/or eligibility in accordance with New Jersey Administrative Code and Statute. By completing this application, you are acknowledging these requirements.
The Board of Education enforces these requirements through the use of professional private investigation firms, the Lawrence Township Police Department, and district administration.
Proof of address in Lawrence Township: Documents should be current, within 60 days of enrollment. See Step 2 for documents to prove residency.
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year will be open on February 9, 2026.
Students must be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2026 in order to enroll in kindergarten.
If you are currently enrolled in the Lawrence Township Public Preschool Program (Cardinal Kids) for the 25-26 school year, no additional registration is needed and all age eligible students will automatically be transferred to kindergarten at the end of the school year.
Please note that any new registrations received after Aug 3 are subject to busing delays (if applicable) at the start of school and have a higher likelihood of being diverted from your home school.
Preschool Registration – Preschool at this time is by lottery only
Pre-evaluation for Student Services – If your child is suspected of having a disability and might need special education services, this link will provide you information on the referral process for the child study team.
STEP 2: COLLECT YOUR DOCUMENTS
All supporting documents must be in a pdf format. Photos of documents are not acceptable.
“Adobe Scan App” can be downloaded for your cell phone for this purpose.
If a document is not in English, then a translated copy, that is translated and notarized, must be submitted.

STEP 3: COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION
(Pre-K (3&4), K-12, Transfers, and Re-enrollments)
Complete this Online registration
Must be completed by a parent or legal guardian
Your registration can not be completed if all required documents are not attached to your registration.
If you start your registration and need to stop you can save and reenter the registration.

STEP 4: AFTER REGISTRATION IS COMPLETE
When you complete your online registration, you will receive an email with your next steps.
The school will be notified when your registration has been reviewed by the registrar and approved.
The school will then reach out to you with a start date.
Transportation will provide a bus pass if your child qualifies, this may take up to 7 school days.
