I am delighted to welcome you to Lawrenceville Elementary School.  Our “little school on the hill” provides extraordinary learning experiences for students ranging in age from pre K to third grade.

Our instructional program is stimulating and comprehensive promoting exploration and innovation.  At LES, we teach core academic subjects, special area subjects, computer literacy, and robotics.  We use Responsive Classroom and the Second Step curriculum to develop social, emotional, and academic skills.

Unique to LES is our hands-on environmental class where our students study with a naturalist to explore and discover wildlife and the beauty of nature right in our own backyard. Recently recognized by the NJ Department of Agriculture, we are proud to house a beautiful and bountiful award-winning garden.  Under the extraordinary guidance of a local farm educator, our student’s plant, harvest, and eat the crops grown in our own garden.

We are proud and honored to have been recognized as a National School of Character.  Our CARE Kids (Children Acting Responsibly Everyday) are made up of third graders who are interested in serving their community through service-learning projects.  You will often see our CARE Kids performing good deeds in our school, district, and throughout the community at large.  They also act as Caring Ambassadors for the younger students in the school, building empathy by teaching about the many projects they engage in such as Operation Smile, food drives, and care of the elderly.

Lawrenceville Elementary School is also host to the first elementary Makerspace in our district.  This space is one of many areas at LES where we promote the opportunity to learn and grow by using hands-on projects and technology.  We use the design-thinking process to guide our learning and cultivate higher order thinking. A highlight in our Makerspace is an interactive Lego wall.

Our school motto is, “Do Your Best, Nothing LESs!”  Our goal is to help our students reach their full potential and to prepare them for a rapidly changing world by providing a solid foundation. Our dedicated staff work hard every day to help shape the future of our students by promoting a growth mindset and mindfulness practices.  We provide our students an opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive and nurturing environment so that they are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.

Through the partnership of teachers, parents, and the community, our students develop a lifelong commitment to learning, productive living, and responsible behavior.
