Strategic Planning 2026
Lawrence Township Public Schools recently completed a three-meeting strategic planning process facilitated by the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA). More than 100 administrators, Board of Education members, staff, parents, students, and community members participated across the three sessions.
During the first meeting, participants examined the current state of the district and worked in small groups to identify LTPS's greatest strengths and challenges. Common themes from these discussions helped establish a shared understanding of the district’s current opportunities and needs.
The second meeting focused on developing a Portrait of a Learner. Participants explored the skills, attributes, and experiences they believe every LTPS graduate should possess and identified initiatives that would help students develop those competencies. This work led to the creation of broad strategic planning goal areas.
At the third and final meeting, participants collaborated to develop goal statements and objectives for each strategic planning area, drawing upon the strengths, challenges, and learner attributes identified in the previous sessions. The resulting goals focus on Health & Wellness, Safety & Security, Future-Ready Academics, Community Engagement & Involvement, and School Culture & Climate.
The feedback and collaboration from these diverse stakeholders will help guide the district’s priorities and decision-making in the years ahead.
