What is the goal of the Preschool Expansion?
Preschool Education Aid (PEA) is additional state aid provided to school districts for the purpose of implementing preschool programs. Over the next five years, the goal of PEA is to expand the availability of preschool classrooms for three and four-year-old residents of the Lawrence Township School District at no cost to parents.
What are the costs associated with the preschool program?
There are no costs to attend the preschool program for any resident, age-eligible child in the
Lawrence Township School District. Lunch is provided to students for purchase as it is with all of our K-8 students. Families who are eligible for free or reduced lunch will be provided meals consistent with their free/reduced application.
What is the age eligibility for the preschool program?
What is the enrollment for each class?
Each preschool classroom has a maximum enrollment of 15 students. Each classroom has a combination of three and four-year-old students, inclusive of students with special needs. A mixed-delivery classroom model is the recommendation of the Department of Early Childhood and will continue as the District continues to expand its preschool classes. This means that classes will continue to be inclusive of students with special needs and a mix of three and four-year-old students.
How do I register for the preschool program?

Free and Reduced Lunch
Lawrence Township School District participates in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Child Nutrition Program. Please log into the Genesis Parent Portal at https://parents.ltps.org/ to see if you qualify. Paper applications can also be obtained from your child's school main office or at the Board of Education.
Early Childhood Advisory Council
The Early Childhood Advisory Committee (ECAC) is responsible for offering input on the district's preschool program. Further, ECAC seeks to strengthen relationships with families, schools, local businesses, colleges/universities, and health agencies. The ECAC participates in the development of a community assessment to aid in identifying specific community needs, resources, and facilities as they pertain to the implementation of high-quality preschool services. The Early Childhood Advisory Council supports transition into the preschool program, as well as the transition of preschool students into kindergarten. We seek representative partners inclusive of each PreK location on this committee. Participation in this committee, or its subcommittees, is completely voluntary, yet essential to support the growth of all our preschoolers in the district. The term for parents is through the 2024-2025 school year. Business and community partners will remain indefinitely.
