Cardinal Kids Preschool
LTPS continues to be one of the school districts in New Jersey, afforded the wonderful opportunity to expand our preschool program through the Preschool Expansion Grant/State Aid Program. In February 2024, Lawrence Township expanded and now offers preschool education across the four elementary schools. All accepted students receive free, full-day learning in a highly effective preschool program.
The LTPS District Preschool services three and four year-olds in the community. Our preschool program provides services and supports for students in general education and special education.
Our Preschool Lottery will close on April 11, 2025. Your child must be three or four years old by October 1, 2025 to be eligible for preschool in our district. Students who are eligible for free/reduced lunch will be prioritized.
At LTPS, we follow the research on Early Childhood Education. We believe that a structured play-based environment is the foundation for becoming a life-long learner. It is our pleasure to meet the needs of our students and families by providing the elements of a highly effective preschool program. The Preschool Program implements the highly regarded and NJDOE recommended Tools of The Mind and TS Gold Assessment to support the learning of our 3 and 4 year olds. As part of the growth of the preschool program, we have added a Preschool Intervention/ Preschool Instructional Coach, and Preschool Social Worker. The LTPS Preschool Community believes that building relationships and collaborating with all district stakeholders is critical in supporting our community of preschool learners. We have done this by working together with community partners and developing connections that will support our students and their families. We have a district wide LTPS Preschool Advisory group (ECAC), that meets monthly and is open to all district preschool families from all of our locations and programs. This group meets monthly for educational opportunities, program updates, and collaboration on preschool events. The funding from the DOE continues to assist us with this important district and community initiative, while providing an equitable opportunity for an increased number of students as they move forward with the continuum of educational programming in Lawrence.
We have programs across the district housed at the following district schools:
-
Lawrence High School
