Ms. Vanessa Bekarciak, Assistant Superintendent for Student Services

Vanessa Bekarciak

July 2023- An alum of Lawrence Township Public Schools, Ms. Bekarciak is excited to return home to the district.  She is in her 18th year working in education, and has been a special education administrator for the past 14 years. Ms. Bekarciak has always made decisions where children’s needs were put first. She began her career as a school psychologist in Lawrence Township before transitioning into administration, gaining experience in several unique school districts. Ms. Bekarciak began her administrative career in Trenton Public Schools, where she was Assistant Director of Special Education, before becoming the Director for the Rancocas Valley Regional School District, and later the Mt. Holly school district. Her last seven years were spent in the Bordentown Regional School District as the Director of Special Services.


During her time in Bordentown, Ms. Bekarciak worked diligently and creatively to find ways to support the changing needs of the students in the community. This included providing therapeutic supports, the creation of a postgraduate program to support students in their home community, and the innovation of various special education programs with specialized academic instruction and emotional support. Ms. Bekarciak is passionate about ensuring that all classrooms are supportive, safe and effective learning environments for all students. It has always been her belief that students with disabilities should have access not only to a least restrictive environment, but to an education that fosters the skills that enables him/her to become a lifelong learner.
Ms. Bekarciak holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from West Chester University, and an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from Rider University. She has been an adjunct graduate school professor at Rider University, and is a mentor for new administrators through NJPSA.

Nicole Einhorn, Supervisor of Special Education/CST (Grades PreK-6)

Nicole Einhorn

 

Ms. Nicole Einhorn is our district's Supervisor of Special Education and CST for Grades PreK – 6. Many of you already know Nicole from her role as School Social Worker at Lawrence High School where she has been since 2008. 

After graduating from the Evergreen State College with a Bachelor of Arts, Nicole earned her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University.   

Nicole began her social work career in mental health as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at an inpatient eating disorders unit. Nicole transitioned to education in 2002 as a school counselor at Brooks Crossing Elementary School in South Brunswick before joining LTPS in her role at Lawrence High School. Nicole remains committed to mental health and social emotional learning, and continues to maintain her LCSW. 

Nicole has been a district trainer for Crisis Prevention Institute and Restorative Practice, and a leader in numerous initiatives and programs at LHS over the years. Nicole will be joining the Early Childhood Advisory Council for Lawrence and is on the advisory board for the NJ Statewide Student Support Services Hub for Mercer County (NJ4S).

Nicole's passion for working with special education students began with her first position as a self-contained elementary teacher. From there, she moved onto High School, working with students on the Autism Spectrum, focusing on vocational, and life skills programming. Prior to joining the Lawrence team, Nicole worked as a Supervisor of Special Services for the Tinton Falls School District. Nicole attended West Chester University, dual majoring in Elementary and Special Education. She also attended Rutgers University where she earned her Masters in Special Education. Thereafter, she earned her Principal and Supervisors certifications from Montclair State University. Nicole is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
