Brenda Eke is excited to join the Cardinal family! Before transitioning to the Assistant Principal role at Lawrence High School, Ms. Eke served as a Special Education English teacher at New Brunswick High School. Ms. Eke prides herself on being an advocate for student achievement and learning. As a former Class Advisor and volleyball coach, she has made it a goal to put students first in all aspects of the student experience. Ms. Eke remained in this position for seven years before joining the administration team at Lawrence High School in 2021.

Ms. Brenda Eke earned her BA in English and Masters in the Art of Teaching both from Montclair State University. Ms. Eke completed post graduate studies with New Jersey Expedited Certification for Educational Leadership (NJEXCEL). Through this program, Ms. Eke gained hands-on experience and worked closely with current and past New Jersey school administrators.

Her philosophy of education centers around student experience and advocacy. Ms. Eke truly believes that students should be able to see themselves represented in the curriculum that they are being taught. When students have a voice in their educational experience, the level of engagement and appreciation for learning greatly increases. Ms. Eke is a proud New Jersey resident from an even prouder Nigerian family.
