Character Education Partnership named Lawrenceville Elementary School a National School of Character for 2012 - 2016! One of only 20 public, 3 private, and 1 charter school recognized this year, LES went through a rigorous evaluation process to determine if our focus on character development has had a positive impact on academic achievement, student behavior, and school climate. Lawrenceville Elementary School was proud to be named a 2008, 2009, and 2010 New Jersey School of Character (NJSOC) by the Character Education Partnership and The Center for Social and Character Development at Rutgers University. In 2011 we received an Honorable Mention recognition and in 2012 New Jersey School of Character from the New Jersey Alliance for Social Emotional and Character Development.
NJSOC recognize schools that excel in exemplifying the national Character Education Partnership's Eleven Principles of Effective Character Education and demonstrate an outstanding character education initiative that yields positive results in student behavior, school climate, and academic performance.
