    Substitute Teacher Qualifications

    • Apply for a substitute teacher application at LTPS Employment Opportunities

    • If you are applying for a new NJ Substitute Credential certificate, please log onto the NJEdCert website and create a new account here NJEdCert New users should select "Create Account" and follow the directions. 
    • If you are applying for a substitute nurse position, you will have to obtain a NJ Substitute Credential Certificate in addition to having a valid NJ Registered Nurse license.

     GCN Training

    New AND returning users: Click here to log into the GCN website and begin your training session. Returning substitutes are required to complete GCN training each school year.

    Absence Management

    Aesop is a computerized substitute calling system that can be accessed by substitutes by telephone or online. It’s easy to use and provides substitutes with the ability to job shop, view information about jobs they have accepted, and review jobs that they have already filled. Once substitutes have been reappointed or newly appointed by the Board of Education, they will receive the necessary information to access Aesop.

    • $115/Full Day and $57.50 for Half Day for Non-Certificated Substitute Teachers
    • $125/Full Day and $62.50 for Half Day for Certificated Substitute Teacher
    • $225/Nurse-Full Day
    • $112.50/Nurse-Half Day
    • $16/hour for Substitute Assistants
    • $17/hour for Substitute Secretaries
    • $16/hour for Substitute Security Monitors
    • $30.33/hour Supplemental Security
    • $20.22/hour Substitute Bus Assistants
    • $29.18/hour Substitute Bus Drivers
    • $21/hour Substitute Custodians
    • $305.68/Day Long Term Substitute Teacher (up to 60 instructional days in same position)
    • $30.33/hour Long Term Substitute Assistant (over 20 consecutive days in same position)
