Mrs. Amy E. Amiet

Ms. Amiet is honored to be the Principal of Eldridge Park Elementary school.  She has been an educator for 16 years and part of the LTPS family since 2006. While in Lawrence she has held the positions of music teacher at Eldridge Park Elementary School and Assistant Principal of Lawrence Intermediate School.

Ms. Amiet is passionate about many of the initiatives that she has fostered at LTPS including Character Education, which has earned the title of National District of Character under her leadership and direction as co-chair of the District Team.  While in her time as a teacher she developed a “grass roots” social emotional learning program in collaboration with her team which has earned the title of National School of Character at Eldridge Park School since 2008. She continues to be active on the New Jersey Alliance of Social Emotional Learning and Character Development as well as working with the New Jersey Department of Education to develop the Social Emotional Learning Standards for the State.  She has presented at the State and National Level for best practices in character development and is fully Responsive Classroom trained. She is proud of fostering inclusive education in our schools and allowing students to grow and develop under the philosophy of the total child.   

Ms. Amiet has earned her B.A. in Music Education as well as her M.A. in Educational Leadership from The College of New Jersey.  She is a proud wife and mother of 2 who enjoys the outdoors, traveling and cooking with her family. She is thrilled to be starting her position as Principal at the school she started in and looks forward to continuing to build relationships with the students, staff and families of the LTPS community.
