Welcome to the LIS Music Department!
The Lawrence Township Public Schools are proud to announce that we have once again been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by NAMM! Here at LIS students have multiple opportunities to participate in the music program. All students will receive a general music class for one marking period every other day as part of their education. In addition to this, students may choose to participate in their grade level chorus and have the opportunity sign up to take an orchestra or band instrument in the fall of 4th grade. We also have advanced groups that students may enter through audition: Pitch Black our advanced vocal group, the LIS Jazz Band for band and rhythm instruments and Chamber Strings for our string players. Students may also participate in their grade level handchime ensembles. The handchime participates are chosen through a lottery system in early fall. Much of the information you may be looking for can be found on the LIS Music Website! Visit the LIS Music Website by clicking here! If you still have questions please look at the teacher responsibilities below to contact the correct music teacher!
